Hello,
I have seen some posts regarding this but none of the advice has solved
my trouble.
Here's what I've got.
A Netopia Caymen 5300 router on a DSL connection. The router is set for
NAT. I have configured the router to allow traffic on ports 5900 and
5800 to be forwarded to my host machine. The client is not able to find
the host from outside the LAN unless I completely disable NAT. Netopia
tech support says that I have configured the "pinholes" through NAT
properly and the issue must be with WinVNC. Both the Host and Client
computers are running Windows XP Professional. The client computer only
has VNC viewer installed. If I set the remote machine to Viewer (listen)
I can connect to it from behind the router but so far no luck going in
the other direction.
Help!
